NC calls CWC and Parliamentary Party meeting tomorrow

KATHMANDU: The main opposition party, Nepali Congress (NC), has convened a joint meeting of the Central Working Committee (CWC) and the parliamentary party.

According to information shared by NC central office Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel, the joint meeting is scheduled for 11:00 am on Wednesday at the party’s central office in Sanepa.

Paudel also disclosed that the party’s province committee heads and parliamentary party leaders have been invited to the meeting.

NC plans to conduct extensive discussions to formulate further strategies during the meeting.

Province working committee presidents serve as members of the Central Working Committee.

This marks the first time NC has decided to involve the parliamentary leaders of the provincial assemblies in such meetings.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the handling of the cooperative scam case, NC has continuously obstructed the House and demanded a parliamentary probe committee to investigate Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane for his alleged involvement in the fraud.

While the ruling coalition has suggested forming a committee to investigate the cooperatives-related fraud, NC has been insisting on including Home Minister Lamichhane’s name in the investigation for his alleged involvement in the scam.
