Chaite Dashain festival witnesses business of Rs 100 million in Baglung



BAGLUNG: This year’s Chaite Dashain fair recorded businesses of Rs 100 million in Baglung Kalika Temple.

Chaite Dashain festival in Baglung Kalika is believed to be as old as 300 years.

This year’s fair ended on April 18 starting April 12. At the fair, local products including winnows, bamboo baskets, Madal and several others were kept in the stalls.

The festival also contributed to making the tourism business vibrant in Baglung as hundreds of thousands of people arrived to pay homage to Kalika Bhagawati from across the country and even from India.

The fair management committee said that more than 500,000 people attended the festival.

Chairman of Baglung Kalika Bhagawati Guthi Management Committee Kumar Khadka said the fair was organized as part of the continuation of 300 years 300-year-old tradition.

“This is not merely limited to loss and profit but for protection of traditional fair,” Khadka shared.

Likewise, national volleyball competition, open duet folk song competition, shotput competition, school-level dance competition and several other athletics tournaments were organized.
