Kathmandu likely to witness rain today afternoon

KATHMANDU: In sync with the rest of the nation, today witnesses a shift in the weather pattern over Kathmandu Valley, with clouds dominating the sky.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the likelihood of sunshine in the Valley today is minimal.

Even as of now, there remains a possibility of light rain in Kathmandu Valley, particularly after noon, it stated.

While there was rain until 6 am, it has temporarily ceased. However, there’s a chance of rainfall resuming later in the day.

On Wednesday, the Valley remained overcast with persistent light rain, continuing even into the night, contributing to a perceptible drop in temperatures.

The Division reported that the minimum temperature in the Valley plummeted to 11 degrees Celsius this morning, compared to 12 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.

The expected maximum temperature in the Valley ranges between 19 and 21 degrees today.

This is a notable contrast from Wednesday’s maximum temperature of 15.4 degrees Celsius, which had previously soared above 27 degrees Celsius.

The rain measuring center at Tribhuvan International Airport area recorded 13 mm of rainfall over the past 24 hours.
