KATHMANDU: The Surkhet District Court has issued an arrest warrant against Pancha Singh, the chairperson of the All Nepal National Free Student Union (ANNFSU)-Revolutionary, a student union closely associated with the ruling CPN-Maoist Center.

The court has issued the arrest warrant in connection with a case related to the murder of a youth approximately fifteen years ago.

Police Inspector Krishna Bahadur Khadka from the District Police Office Surkhet informed that the district court in Surkhet has granted permission to arrest Pancha Singh.

“We have received permission from the court, and we are proceeding with the legal process,” said Inspector Khadka.

The arrest warrant is linked to Pancha Singh’s alleged involvement in the murder of Raj Bahadur Malla, a 17-year-old youth from Kalikot, on March 9, 2009.

Regarding the issuance of the arrest warrant, Singh stated that she has not received official information on the matter.

While she has heard rumors about the arrest outside, she emphasized that no official information has been received concerning the issuance of the arrest warrant.

“I have heard rumors about the arrest warrant, but no official information has been received,” Singh told Khabarhub.
