Bank loss impact on stock market: NEPSE drops by 25 points

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has witnessed a decline on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.

The overall index has decreased by 25.63 points today.

Compared to the previous trading day, NEPSE has dropped by 1.18 percent, closing at 2,130 points.

The majority of banks reporting losses in their financial statements, along with a decline in profit, have affected the stock market.

The sensitive index of ‘A’ class companies has dropped by 7.41 points, closing at 386.20 points.

Out of the trading of 308 bonds and debentures today, 90 saw an increase in value, while 202 saw the decline, and 16 remained stable.

The total transaction amount for the day is equivalent to Rs. 7,677,740,000.
