PM Cup: Gandaki Province dominates as Koshi Province falls for historic low



KATHMANDU: In a Prime Minister Cup Men’s National Cricket Tournament 2024 match, Gandaki Province delivered a commanding performance, securing victory against Koshi Province by a staggering 142 runs.

Opting to bowl after winning the toss, Koshi Province initially restricted Gandaki Province to 167 runs, all out, in 48.2 overs at the Mulpani cricket ground.

However, the tables turned dramatically during Koshi’s chase, resulting in them being all out for a mere 25 runs in 15.1 overs.

This stands as the lowest score recorded by any team in the history of the tournament.

For Koshi, no batsman managed to reach double figures in runs, emphasizing the dominant bowling display by Gandaki.

Bipin Khatri was the standout performer, taking six wickets, while Sandeep Parajuli contributed with three wickets.

Earlier in the innings, Muskan T Magar led the charge for Gandaki Province, scoring the highest with 67 runs, including seven fours. Bipin Khatri, the team’s captain, added 42 runs, and Kamal Pariyar contributed 13 runs.

On the bowling front for Koshi Province, Avyash Timalsina took six wickets, supported by Firdosh Ansari, Kamal Khatri, and Sonu Mandal, each securing a wicket.
