Ambukhareni joins Social Security Fund

DAMAULI: The Ambukhaireni Rural Municipality of Tanahun has joined the Social Security Fund.

The rural municipality has joined the fund under the contribution-based social security scheme started by the federal government.

Executive Director of Social Security Fund Kabiraj Adhikari and Chief Administrative Officer of the Rural Municipality Bishnu Prasad Sharma signed an agreement towards that end.

Following the agreement, workers within the rural municipality will be included in the scheme.

The rural municipality will work to add the people working in the informal sector to the online system.

The contribution amount to be deposited in the fund from the related workers will be done through the rural municipality.

For workers in the industrial sector and working informally, the federal and provincial governments contribute to the 9.37 per cent to be deposited in the fund.

According to the agreement, the rural municipality will receive an user ID to perform tasks such as listing the informal sector workers and self-employed persons within the rural municipality, depositing the contribution amount among others.

The contributors who join the fund and make regular contributions will be paid the benefits as per the procedures.

The rural municipality will also work to generate necessary awareness regarding the social security scheme and its benefits.
