Dense fog in Terai likely to disrupt transport services

KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division has issued a warning regarding the current partial impact of westerly winds in Nepal.

While the weather remains generally clear in most parts of the country, there are notable changes in the hilly regions.

Furthermore, the Terai areas are experiencing fog and reduced visibility.

Today, there is a likelihood of light snowfall in select hilly areas during the afternoon, accompanied by partly to mostly cloudy conditions in the highlands and Himalayan regions.

Additionally, residents in Bagmati, Madhesh, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces should be prepared for possible snowfall in high hills and Himalayan areas, coupled with partly to mostly cloudy skies during the night, the Divison said.

The Division has also urged people to take precautionary measures as snowfall is anticipated in the highlands and Himalayan regions, while the Terai region is expected to witness fog and reduced visibility.

This weather condition may significantly impact daily life, health, transportation, and air services in the affected areas, it said.
