KATHMANDU: Police arrested Shree Bhagwan Sah, a 41-year-old government employee, in Rautahat on Thursday for illegal loan sharking.

Sah, from Mithuawa village, was arrested following a complaint by Rampreet Sah.

Rautahat District Court issued an arrest warrant on December 5 against him and his wife, Binita Sah, who is still on the run.

Police arrested Shree Bhagwan Sah at Shukdev Chowk after he returned from his job in Karnali Province. Investigations are ongoing, according to DSP Deepak Kumar Raya.

Authorities in Rautahat have recently intensified their crackdown on loan sharking and unfair lending practices.
