New Road area transformed as electric poles and wires removed (In pics)

KATHMANDU: The New Road area in Kathmandu now looks clean and organized after the removal of tangled wires and electric poles.

Following prolonged efforts, Ward No. 24 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, particularly the Shukrapath area, has become wire- and pole-free.

Previously, the city had expanded the footpath by reducing the road width in the area.

However, electric poles in the middle of the footpath remained an obstacle.

With the removal of these poles and tangled internet wires, the New Road area now appears much cleaner.

This change has also made walking easier for pedestrians, as all electric and internet cables have been moved underground in the area.
