KATHMANDU: Senior Vice Chairman of CPN-UML, Ishwar Pokharel, has revealed that the Nepali Congress- UML government was formed with the condition of not including the CPN- Maoist Center in the upcoming elections.

Speaking at the seventh convention of the Expatriate Forum in Doha on Friday, Pokharel made this disclosure.

He stated that the government collapsed due to Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’s disruptive actions.

“What can one expect from someone who claims to be left-wing but acts otherwise, which led to the fall of the left-wing government,” Pokharel said.

He emphasized the current need to manage the remittances coming from Qatar.

He stressed the importance of investing remittance money into production.

Pokharel mentioned that the Congress-UML government was formed to ensure political stability.

He remarked that with the changing political landscape, even parties with only 20 seats could aspire to form a government, hence a new government was formed based on the people’s mandate.

During the program, UML central member Umashankar Agariya commented that the parties in the Madhes region have historically fragmented due to their leaders’ greed for power.
