Bagmati Provincial Assembly meeting adjourned due to opposition sloganeering

HETAUDA: The Bagmati State Assembly faced disruption as opposition parties protested during Thursday’s session, demanding a revision of the state budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

Members of the Nepali Congress and Rastriya Prajatantra Party criticized the budget, citing concerns over its lack of balance and discrepancies in income and expenditure details.

Despite repeated calls from Provincial Assembly Speaker Bhuwan Kumar Pathak to maintain order, opposition MPs continued to raise slogans such as “rewrite the budget,” “ensure budget balance,” “promote inclusive budgeting,” and “eliminate financial discrepancies from the budget.”
