Nepali national cricket team returns home after playing ICC T-20 World Cup

KATHMANDU: The Nepali national cricket team returned home today following their participation in the ICC T-20 World Cup.

After competing in matches across America and the West Indies, the team arrived back in Kathmandu early Thursday morning.

Nepal’s journey in the World Cup ended in the group stage without a victory, marking their return after 14 years to this prestigious event.

In their four matches, Nepal faced tough challenges, losing to Bangladesh by 21 runs in their final match, which sealed their exit from the competition.

Their earlier encounters included a loss to the Netherlands by 6 wickets, a rain-cancelled match against Sri Lanka, and a close defeat to South Africa by just 1 run.

Despite their efforts, South Africa topped the group, while Bangladesh progressed to the Super 8 stage from Nepal’s group.
