NC calls CWC and parliamentary party meeting on Wednesday

Province presidents and PP leaders also summoned

KATHMANDU: The main opposition party Nepali Congress (NC) has convened a joint meeting of the Central Working Committee (CWC) and the parliamentary party.

As per information shared by NC central office Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel, the joint meeting is scheduled for 11:00 am on Wednesday at the party’s central office in Sanepa.

He disclosed that the party’s province committee heads and parliamentary party leaders have also been invited to the meeting.

NC plans to conduct extensive discussions to formulate further strategies through the meeting.

Province working committee presidents serve as members of the Central Working Committee.

NC has decided to involve the parliamentary leaders of the provincial assemblies in such meetings for the first time.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the handling of the cooperative scam case, NC has continuously obstructed the House and demanded a parliamentary probe committee to investigate Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane for his alleged involvement in the fraud.

While the ruling coalition has suggested forming a committee to investigate the cooperatives-related fraud, NC has been insisting on including Home Minister Lamichhane’s name for his alleged involvement in the fraud.
