Law Minister Giri accuses NC of sequential demands causing impasse in Parliament

KATHMANDU: Minister of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Padam Giri, has leveled accusations against the main opposition party, Nepali Congress (NC), asserting that they are creating an impasse in Parliament by continually imposing new demands after previous ones have been met.

Addressing journalists at the Parliament building, Minister Giri emphasized that despite the government’s agreement to establish a parliamentary probe committee in response to the opposition’s request, NC has introduced additional obstacles.

He further highlighted that NC’s pattern of imposing successive demands is obstructing the regular functioning of Parliament, disrupting the legislative process.

Minister Giri condemned NC’s actions, particularly their interference in the parliamentary procedure concerning Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’s confidence vote, labeling it as undemocratic and unethical.
