PM Dahal taking a vote of confidence for fourth time today



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is taking a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives today.

A meeting of the House of Representatives has been called at the Federal Parliament building, New Banesworat 11 am for the vote of confidence.

The Prime Minister is taking the vote of confidence after the Janata Samajwadi Party-Nepal (JSP=N), which was part of the government, quit the ruling coalition and withdrew its support.

According to constitutional provisions, when a party withdraws its support from the government, the Prime Minister must seek a vote of confidence within 30 days.

PM Dahal is facing the vote of confidence for the fourth time.

The Prime Minister needs 138 votes from the total number of the House of Representatives to secure the vote of confidence.
