Time to focus on economic prosperity: Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha



KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha has emphasized that the time has come to prioritize economic prosperity alongside the political changes.

DPM Shrestha made this statement while addressing a program organized by the Gorkha Journalists’ Society in Kathmandu today. He urged all stakeholders to contribute to economic growth.

Shrestha highlighted the role of media in supporting the government’s agenda for economic prosperity, encouraging journalists to create an environment conducive to strengthening the mandate for economic development and prosperity.

“Socioeconomic transformation, development, and prosperity are top priorities,” he underscored.

Shrestha also emphasized the importance of swiftly addressing issues related to transitional justice to pave the way for sustainable peace in the country.

He informed the audience about significant global changes and expressed Nepal’s commitment to excel in diplomacy by considering geopolitics.

Furthermore, DPM Shrestha credited Gorkha district for its significant role in the country’s political transformation.

He urged journalists from Gorkha district to raise issues that contribute to positive change.

During the event, Chairman of the Society, Pradip Raj Onta, announced that the Society would support development projects in Gorkha district. Additionally, a calendar published by the Society was unveiled during the occasion.
