Slow progress on Nepalgunj-Gularia road as construction inches forward

BANKE: The Nepalgunj-Gularia road section, a crucial segment under construction as part of the Banke-Hulaki road project, has commenced its long-awaited progress.

Ramesh Sharma, Managing Director of Construction Company Sharma & Company, stated that the application of one-way black sheeting has begun from Nandani Mill in Nepalgunj.

“We’re gearing up to accomplish the paving of approximately 20 kilometers of roads this year,” Sharma stated, “With budget management, we aim to wrap up the entire project within the coming year.”

The black sheeting initiative, initiated from Nandani Mill, has now extended its reach to the Manpur area of Janki Rural Municipality.

Padam Dhital, the local leader of rural municipality-4, noted the significant improvement in traffic flow following the road’s blackening.

“Despite the initial muddy and dusty inconveniences during construction, the paved road has notably eased transportation,” Dhital remarked, “The upgraded route has considerably facilitated travel to and from Nepalgunj.”

Sharma & Company secured the construction contract for a total of two billion 78 crore 29 lakhs excluding value-added tax.

Leela Bahadur Bhandari, head of the Planning Office of the Postal Highway Directorate, reported that approximately 60 percent of the project has been completed within the span of a year.
