Light rain with thunder and lightning likely in some parts

KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division has reported a current weather pattern influenced partially by a western low-pressure system and local wind conditions in Nepal.

As According to the Division, the weather across the hilly regions, notably the Koshi Province, remains predominantly clear, while other parts of the country also experience clear conditions.

This afternoon, the weather is expected to persist with clarity in the hilly terrains encompassing Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

However, partial cloud cover is anticipated in other areas.

There exists a likelihood of scattered to light rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in select locations within Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces, along with isolated occurrences in remaining hilly regions.

Furthermore, isolated light snowfall is probable in specific high-altitude regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Nightfall will likely bring continued clear conditions to the hilly regions of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, while scattered instances of light rain with thunder and lightning may persist in certain hilly areas.

Given the potential for scattered to light rain coupled with thunder and lightning, the Division has advised people taking necessary precautions due to the expected partial impact on various aspects of daily life, including agriculture, health, tourism, mountain climbing, as well as road and air transportation.
