Cyber crime charges for unauthorized sharing of Rabi Lamichhane’s photo

The Kaski District Police Office has announced cyber crime charges against those who shared an unauthorized photo of Rastriya Swatantra Party chair Rabi Lamichhane, who has been in custody since October 18 on cooperative fraud charges.

The photo, which shows Lamichhane lying in the detention cell, has sparked criticism of the police.

Kaski police spokesperson DSP Basanta Kumar Sharma stated that legal action will be initiated against those who violated the confidentiality provisions under the Right to Information Act, 2007, and cyber crime laws.

Joint taskforce formed for sustainable utilization of Karnali river resources

A joint recommendation taskforce has been established to address challenges related to the utilization and conservation of Karnali River resources between Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces.

The taskforce was formed under the coordination of the Secretary of the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers of Lumbini Province following a joint dialogue between the Chief Ministers of both provinces on Wednesday.

The taskforce includes secretaries from the Sudurpaschim provincial government, representatives from the Forest Ministries of both provinces, local governments connected to the river basin, national parks, and the Survey Office, among others.

Gold price drops, trading at Rs.149,000 per tola

The price of gold has decreased by Rs 1,700 per tola today.

According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers Federation, gold is being traded at Rs 149,000 per tola on Thursday. On Wednesday, the price was Rs 150,700 per tola.

Similarly, the price of silver has also declined and is currently being traded at Rs 1,780 per tola.

Women’s U-19 Asia Cup: Nepal-Sri Lanka Super-4 match abandoned due to rain

The Super-4 match between Nepal and Sri Lanka in the ongoing Women’s U-19 Asia Cup in Malaysia was called off due to rain.

The match, held at the Bayumas Oval Cricket Ground in Kuala Lumpur, had just begun when the rain disrupted play.

Nepal had won the toss and opted to field, but the match was abandoned shortly after the first over due to continuous rain.

NPL: Janakpur Bolts defeats Karnali Yaks to reach final

Janakpur Bolts advanced to the final of the Nepal Premier League cricket tournament, defeating Karnali Yaks in the second qualifier.

Chasing a modest target of 119 runs set by Karnali, Janakpur reached the target in 18.5 overs, losing eight wickets.

Janakpur will face Sudurpaschim Royals in the NPL final, scheduled for Saturday.

Loktantrik Samajbadi Party expands central committee with 8 new members

The Loktantrik Samajbadi Party Nepal (LSP), led by Chair Mahantha Thakur, has added eight new central members in a recent expansion.

This move comes amid internal changes following the departure of senior leader Rajendra Mahato.

The newly appointed members are Shyam Sardar of Saptari, Jivachha Prasad Yadav of Siraha, Sunil Kumar Yadav of Dhanusha, Jagat Mahara of Sarlahi, Ram Pravesh Das Tatma of Rautahat, Manju Karki of Bara, Bhogadevi Rana Tharu of Kanchanpur, and Rabindra Sunar of Kaski.
