Fire erupts in Tokha’s Kunwar Colony following loud explosion



KATHMANDU: A massive fire broke out at a residence in Tokha Municipality’s Ward No. 6 on Thursday evening, following a gas cylinder explosion, triggering panic among local residents.

The blaze started around 5:30 pm in the three-storey concrete home of Bhaikaji Shrestha, located in Kunwar Colony, Dhapasi.

Witnesses reported a loud explosion before flames quickly engulfed the house.

Fire engines from various municipalities across the Kathmandu Valley rushed to the scene to douse the flames.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, but preliminary reports suggest the explosion of a gas cylinder contributed to the rapid spread of the blaze.

Authorities are yet to report any casualties, and firefighting operations are ongoing.
