Surya Thapa criticizes RSP’s protest, calls its ‘revenge drama’ to be a super flop

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML leader and former chair of the parliamentary probe committee on cooperative fraud, Surya Thapa, has commented on the ongoing protests surrounding Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane’s arrest.

Through a Facebook post, Thapa hinted at Lamichhane, stating that the “clean chit and acquittal” narrative has already flopped. He further claimed that a new drama titled “Revenge,” lacking in substance, is being staged and predicted it would be a “superflop.”

His post read: “The ‘clean chit and acquittal’ movie flopped everywhere within days, and now, a talentless new drama is being staged—‘Revenge!’ It’s heading toward a superflop—let’s wait and see.”

Thapa had led the special investigation committee, which concluded that Lamichhane had misused funds from various cooperatives through his association with Gorkha Network.
