RSP to protest in Kathmandu and Pokhara today



KATHMANDU: Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has announced protests in both Kathmandu and Pokhara following the arrest of its Chair, Rabi Lamichhane.

Alleging that Chair Lamichhane, who is also the former Home Minister, was arrested on the basis of political revenge, the RSP is going to protest at Maitighar in Kathmandu at 1 pm and Manavadhikar Chowk at Chipledhunga in Pokhara at 11 am.

Lamichhane was arrested on Friday evening from the central office of RSP in Balaju, Kathmandu. He was taken to Pokhara by land at 3 am on Saturday.

Deputy Chairs DP Aryal and Swarnim Wagle will lead the protest in Pokhara. They have reached Pokhara.

**Kathmandu: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RASWPA) Plans Protests Against President Rabi Lamichhane’s Arrest**

Rastriya Swatantra Party (RASWPA) has announced protests in both Kathmandu and Pokhara following the arrest of its president, Rabi Lamichhane. The party claims that Lamichhane, who is also the former Home Minister, was arrested out of political retaliation.

Protests are scheduled at Maitighar in Kathmandu at 1 PM and at Human Rights Chowk in Chipledhunga, Pokhara at 11 AM.

Lamichhane was arrested on Friday evening from the party’s central office in Balaju, Kathmandu, and transported to Pokhara by road early Saturday morning at around 3 AM.

RASWPA Deputy Chairmen DP Aryal and Swarnim Wagle, who have already reached Pokhara, will lead the protests in the city.

Lamichhane faces charges related to financial fraud and organized crime tied to the Pokhara-based Suryadarshan Savings and Loan Cooperative Society Limited. He will be presented in court on Sunday, as today is a public holiday, according to the police.
