Prime Minister directs Kulman Ghising to restore electricity to industries immediately



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has instructed Nepal Electricity Authority’s (NEA) Executive Director Kulman Ghising to immediately restore electricity to various industries affected by the dedicated feeder and trunk line dispute.

During a collective discussion on Friday with officials from the industry, energy sectors, and the NEA, Prime Minister Oli issued this directive.

According to sources from Baluwatar, following the Prime Minister’s directive, Ghising stated that a board meeting would be held to decide on the matter.

It has been indicated that a board meeting will be convened today to resume electricity supply. The tariff dispute will be further studied to conclude, the Prime Minister stated.

The discussion included participation from Minister of Industry, Commerce and Supplies Damodar Bhandari, Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Deepak Khadka, NEA Executive Director Ghising, and ministry secretaries.
