Foreign Affairs Minister Rana enquires about condition of Nepalis in Bangladesh



KATHMANDU: Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba has reached out to the Nepali Ambassador to Bangladesh, Ghanashyam Bhandari, to inquire about the current situation in Bangladesh and the well-being of Nepali students there.

During the telephone call today, Minister Rana expressed her concerns regarding the safety and welfare of Nepali citizens, particularly students, in Bangladesh amidst recent developments.

She instructed Ambassador Bhandari to ensure that Nepalis face no inconvenience and to coordinate effectively to create a safe environment for them to remain in their current locations.

According to a statement from Minister Rana’s Secretariat, Ambassador Bhandari assured that all Nepalis in Bangladesh are safe.

He advised them to remain indoors unless absolutely necessary, follow instructions from their campus administrations, and provided embassy contact details for any assistance required.

The streets of Bangladesh have seen student demonstrations over the past few days.
