KATHMANDU: Local residents obstructed the footpath expansion at New Road in Kathmandu on Friday.

The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) began the expansion on Wednesday after receiving approval from the Patan High Court.

The project had previously been halted due to an obstruction from the Road Division, Kathmandu.

In response to the initial obstruction, the KMC filed a writ petition at the High Court, which later granted permission to proceed with the footpath expansion.
