Two more arrested in 60 kg gold smuggling case

KATHMANDU: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has arrested two more individuals in connection with the 60 kg gold smuggling case.

According to CIB Spokesperson Hobindra Bogati, Manoj Shrestha and Rupak Bhandari, both residents of Bhaktapur, were apprehended for their alleged involvement in the smuggling case.

“Our team arrested them near the Nepal-India border on charges of involvement in the 60 kg gold smuggling case,” Bogati stated. “Further investigation is ongoing.”

With these latest arrests, the total number of individuals detained in the second phase of the investigation has reached 20, Bogati added.
