Yoga practice beneficial for police employees: Home Minister Lamichhane



KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Rabi Lamichhane, has said Yoga practice will have its contribution to maintaining physical fitness and achieving sound mental health, advising police personnel to make it their daily routine.

In his address to a day-long Yoga campaign organized today at the Nepal Police Headquarters in coordination with the Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Nepal, the Home Minister said the Yoga practice could be significantly beneficial for the police employees to strengthen their physical and mental health amidst their ‘hectic, challenging and tough’ professional life.

As he said, a sound body and mind have their importance in making decisions capable of building s safe society.

He stressed that each citizen could feel safe upon seeing a person in a police uniform, hoping for positive changes in society if police employees remain more dedicated to civic service with integrity.

Home Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal described Yoga as a tool to connect the ‘soul’ with the body and to explore ‘unlimited’ mental capacity.

Inspector General of Police, Basanta Bahadur Kunwar expressed his hope that the camp would be beneficial for police personnel from various aspects.

The Yoga practice guided by certain rules, discipline, procedures, and methods will result in physical and mental refreshment, enhancement of the immune system, and development of positive vibes with the self.
