I am not involved in cooperatives-fraud: Home Minister Lamichhane

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane stated that he is not involved in the cooperative-fraud case and no allegations have been made against him.

Also the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman, Lamichhane made this statement while addressing the House of Representatives on Sunday.

“I am not involved in any cooperative fraud. No allegations have been made against me. For the past 15 years, I have been observing corruption lists,” he said. “Regarding the Gorkha Media Network issue, I have never taken a loan in my name. If there was enough evidence, action should have been taken. The parliament has been held hostage by baseless rumors.”

Lamichhane also raised questions targeting Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa, concerning the misuse of state funds under the guise of raising goats.

“Let’s also take action against those who misuse state funds under the pretext of rearing goats, chickens, and ducks,” he said. “And let’s take action against those who misuse passports to send people to Japan.”
