NC requests postponement of task force meeting: UML Chief whip optimistic about positive outcomes

KATHMANDU: The task force meeting, aimed at establishing the parliamentary probe committee for the cooperative scam, has been postponed at the request of the Nepali Congress, seeking additional time for deliberation.

“Upon the request from NC leaders for further internal discussions, the task force meeting has been temporarily deferred,” said Mahesh Bartaula, Chief Whip of the CPN-UML in the House of Representatives.

He added that NC leaders felt the need for additional deliberations on the draft terms of reference (TOR) before its finalization.

Bartaula expressed confidence that all issues could be resolved by Sunday evening.

Previously, on Saturday, key leaders of the ruling coalition, including Prime Minister and CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli, Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, and main opposition party NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, among others, were engaged in discussions.
