HoR meeting rescheduled for 2 PM

KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives (HoR) meeting, originally scheduled for 11 am, has been rescheduled to 2 pm this afternoon.

The meeting was postponed after the task force, assigned to define the Terms of Reference (TOR) for a committee probing cooperative fund misappropriation, failed to reach a consensus.

The Nepali Congress, the main opposition party, has been obstructing meetings of both the lower and upper houses, demanding a parliamentary committee to investigate Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane’s involvement in the cooperative fraud case.

On Saturday evening, leaders from both the ruling and opposition factions agreed to establish the probe committee and formed a task force to finalize the details.
