KATHMANDU: The government has padlocked Nepal Scout’s property, which has been illegally occupied for over five years by Nepali Congress Central Committee member and Member of Parliament Deepak Khadka.

A team from the Kathmandu Administration’s Office, along with Nepal Police officials, sealed the land on Thursday evening that Khadka has been using unlawfully.

Khadka allegedly forged the signatures of Nepal Scout officials and captured the land he had leased for 10 years in 2065 BS.

Despite the contract expiring in 2075 BS, Khadka continued construction on the land instead of returning it to Nepal Scout.

Initially, Khadka had leased 3 ropanis of land from Nepal Scouts for 10 years, but he has been using over 12 ropanis forcefully.

The Khadka Land Development, owned by the NC lawmaker, had signed the contract in 2065 BS.

According to Nepal Scouts, Khadka has not paid the promised rent for a long time, and the outstanding amount has exceeded Rs. 63 million and 18 thousand.

The land and buildings leased by Khadka himself are now found to be rented out to others.
