NC Mahasamiti meeting commences in Godawari



KATHMANDU: The meeting of the Mahasamiti, the party’s highest policy-making body, of the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has begun in Godawari, Lalitpur.

Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba inaugurated the meeting with a ceremonial lamp lighting at the Godawari Convention Center in Lalitpur.

The Mahasamiti meeting is scheduled to run until February 22.

NC plans to present five reports on policy matters, organizational issues, current political situations, economic status, and auditing.

NC Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka will present the policy report, while General Secretary Gagan Thapa will present the organizational report, and another General Secretary, Bishwaprakash Sharma, will present the report on current political situations.

Additionally, Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat, who also serves as a spokesperson for the party, will present a report on the current economic condition, prospects, and future direction of Nepal.

The coordinator of the finance committee, Shyam Ghimire, will present the audit report.

The committee meeting, organized in the form of a policy convention, will involve group discussions based on the reports presented.

Preparations are underway to conduct collective discussions through groups representing the Terai, Hills, Madhes, and Himalayan regions.

More than two thousand representatives are participating in the committee meeting.
