NC row: Gagan Thapa “agrees” to amend document

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has asserted that General Secretary Gagan Thapa has “agreed” to amend the report, particularly on forging alliance, prepared by him to be presented at the NC’s Mahasamiti meeting beginning today in Lalitpur.

Min Bishwakarma, the Head of the party’s Publicity Department, said Thapa “agreed” to make necessary changes in his document.

Following the agreement, NC leaders proceeded to Godawari for the Mahasamiti meeting, where Bishwakarma stated that only the inaugural session would take place today.

“Thapa’s report will be printed this evening, and the closed session will commence tomorrow morning,” he added.

The report is scheduled for submission during the same session.

It has been revealed that NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba expressed dissatisfaction with certain aspects of General Secretary Thapa’s report, particularly pertaining to the alliance, National Assembly elections, and the Constitution.
