World Cup League-2: Namibia and Netherlands to clash at Kirtipur Ground

KATHMANDU: In the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup League-2 (2023-2027) series, Namibia and Netherlands are set to face each other today in a crucial match at TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 9:15 am.

Namibia, currently on a tour to Nepal, initiated their campaign with a victorious start, defeating Nepal in their opening match.

On the other hand, the Netherlands is seeking redemption after a 9-wicket loss to Nepal in their first encounter.

Nepal has already encountered both Namibia and the Netherlands in League 2, achieving a mixed outcome.

The team faced a setback with a four-wicket loss to Namibia in the initial match but rebounded with a spectacular 9-wicket triumph over the Netherlands.

Eight nations, including Nepal, Netherlands, Namibia, Canada, Oman, Scotland, UAE, and America, are actively participating in the League-2 competition.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has outlined that the top four teams in League-2 will secure spots in the World Cup qualifiers, while the remaining four nations will have the chance to vie for a spot in the World Cup.

The stakes are high as teams strive to position themselves favorably in the league for a shot at the prestigious World Cup.
