Measles cases detected in Jhapa



JHAPA: The presence of measles has been confirmed in two out of the 15 local levels within Jhapa district.

Raj Kumar Pokharel, the Immunization Officer at the District Health Office in Jhapa, reported that cases of measles were identified in Jhapa Rural Municipality and Birtamod Municipality.

In the past two weeks, seven cases of measles have been reported in the district—six cases in Jhapa Rural Municipality and one case in Birtamod Municipality.

A family consisting of three members was also found to be infected with measles during a blood test at the Sharanamati Health Post.

Additionally, a five-year-old girl from Birtamod Municipality-3 was diagnosed with measles.

The confirmation of measles occurred through a blood test at Birtamod Municipal Hospital, where she was brought for treatment two days ago. The girl is currently isolated for medical care.
