PM Cup: Bagmati gains victory over Koshi with Aashutosh’s century

KATHMANDU: In the Prime Minister’s Cup National Cricket Tournament, the Bagmati Province defeated Koshi Province at Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Friday.

Bagmati secured victory by defeating Koshi with a margin of 64 runs. Koshi, aiming for a target of 274 runs, was bundled out for just 209 runs in 47 overs. Sujan Thapaliya played a crucial role for Koshi, scoring the highest with 59 runs.

Additionally, Ankit Subedi contributed 53 runs. Bagmati’s Ishan Paudel claimed five wickets. Earlier, Bagmati, having lost the toss, managed to score 273 runs in 48.3 overs. Aashutosh Ghiraiya was the top scorer with a century, contributing 118 runs.

Bagmati’s disciplined performance puts them in the second position in the point table. Koshi Province, facing continuous defeats, lingers at the bottom of the table.

In the ongoing Round Robin League format, seven provinces and three departmental teams are participating.

The top two teams from the league will advance to the final.
