KATHMANDU: In a thrilling encounter of the Prime Minister Cup Men’s National Cricket Tournament 2024, Bagmati Province showcased a formidable performance, setting a challenging target of 274 runs for Koshi Province on Friday.

Aashutosh Ghiraiya emerged as the hero of the innings, unleashing a cricketing storm and achieving a magnificent century.

His brilliant display of power included an impressive tally of 16 boundaries (fours) and two towering sixes, marking the fifth century in the ongoing tournament.

Prior to Ghiraiya’s stellar innings, Rashi Khan of Nepal Police Club, Sandeep Jhora of APF, Binod Bhandari of Nepal Army Club, and Sujan Thapaliya of Koshi Province had also achieved the milestone of hitting centuries in this highly competitive tournament.

Having won the toss, Koshi Province opted to bowl first, and Bagmati Province capitalized on the opportunity, scoring a total of 273 runs while losing 10 wickets in 48.3 overs.

Captain Rit Gautam and Rabin Joshi also made significant contributions to the team’s score, adding 49 and 43 runs respectively.
