Rabi Lamichhane may face arrest: Prachanda

KATHMANDU: Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, Chairman of the Maoist Center, has suggested that former Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane may face arrest.

During a meeting of opposition party leaders convened by Prachanda on Friday morning, he expressed this concern based on discussions held among the three parties.

The top leaders of the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, and Maoist Center met in Baluwatar on Wednesday to discuss the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) and also addressed the situation regarding Lamichhane, Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).

Prachanda noted that after hearing Prime Minister KP Oli’s arguments, it appears the government is preparing to take action against Lamichhane.

“The arrest can happen in a day or two,” a leader who attended the meeting said quoting Prachanda.
