Election Commission fixes by-elections at local levels on December 1



KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has fixed the by-elections for various vacant posts at the local level on December 1.

The commission has approved the schedule including time-bound work to be done by the commission and the offices under it to conduct the local level by-elections in an orderly manner.

According to the schedule, the notice of registration of political parties for election purposes will be published on September 25  and political parties will be registered for election purposes from September 26 to October 2.

On October 6, party registration will be approved, election guidelines, procedures, norms and code of conduct will be prepared, election materials, human resources management, voter education, training and capacity development will be conducted.

There is a schedule for publishing the final list of voters on November 11 and determining polling booths, and establishing the election officer’s office on November 15.

Similarly, the election schedule has been approved with 62 activities, including conducting the election program from the November 17 until the 1st December.
