Jhapa’s Biring and Aduwa rivers face imminent flood danger

Water reaches "dangerous levels"



BIRTAMOD: The water level in Nindakhola of Jhapa, situated along the East-West Highway, has surged beyond the danger mark.

As of Thursday morning, the water level has risen to 125.786 cusecs, as reported by the Flood Forecasting Division.

The danger mark for the river is set at 122.5 cusec.

Authorities have urged residents living in the riverine areas to remain vigilant, anticipating possible flooding in Biring, Aduwa, and other smaller rivers in the area due to heavy rainfall.

Meteorologists have warned of heavy rainfall in isolated places across Koshi, Bagmati, and Sudurpaschim provinces later today.

The country is currently under the influence of the monsoon winds.

Consequently, the Weather Forecast Division has forecasted partly to mostly cloudy conditions nationwide today.
