Medical Education Commission grants affiliation to Durga Prasai’s B&C Medical College

KATHMANDU: The Medical Education Commission has decided to grant affiliation to Durga Prasai’s B&C Medical College in Jhapa.

The decision was made during the 14th meeting of the Commission, chaired by Prime Minister and Commission Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda,” held in Baluwatar on Tuesday.

The decision follows the Supreme Court’s order to grant affiliation for medical education to B&C.

On March 25, the Supreme Court directed that B&C Hospital, operated by Durga Prasai, be granted affiliation as a medical college.

A member of the commission, who participated in the meeting, revealed that the decision was reached after Chairperson Prachanda argued in favor of granting the affiliation to B&C.

The meeting was also attended by the commission’s co-chairpersons, Minister of Health and Population Pradip Yadav, and Minister of Education, Science, and Technology Sumana Shrestha.
