KATHMANDU: Chief Justice Bishowambhar Prasad Shrestha has emphasized the judiciary’s commitment to fulfilling its constitutional duties and responsibilities with honesty.
Speaking at the 8th Annual General Assembly of the Former Judges Forum Nepal organized today in Kathmandu to discuss the current state of legal governance, Chief Justice Shrestha expressed the need to develop a culture of upholding legal governance.
He highlighted the necessity for the courts to experience the essence of law in order to avoid repeated orders on the same issue, which is not conducive to a satisfactory situation.
He also mentioned the need for judges and the judiciary to always remain serious and conscientious in order to advance legal governance.
“The perspective and thoughts expressed should be aimed at the advancement of legal governance,” Chief Justice Shrestha stated.
He further claimed that efforts for judicial reform have been commendable, considering the initiation of discussions and debates to ensure the realization of swift and fair justice for all.
Providing information on the initiation of new actions in debates and presentations to ensure access to justice for all citizens and service recipients, Chief Justice Shrestha stated that significant strides had been made in professional reform efforts.
Former Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli emphasized the necessity for discretion and knowledge in the interpretation of justice along with the constitution and laws.
