Home Minister Lamichhane joins PM Dahal, UML Chair Oli, and Speaker Ghimire at Baluwatar

KATHMANDU: Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane has arrived at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar to join Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, and CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli for discussions on ending the obstruction in Parliament.

The main opposition party, Nepali Congress (NC), along with other opposition parties in parliament, is obstructing parliamentary proceedings, seeking the formation of a parliamentary probe committee against Home Minister Lamichhane’s alleged involvement in cooperatives-related fraud.

Earlier, Prime Minister Dahal had called NC leaders for talks on Saturday morning.

According to NC leaders, Dahal assured them to initiate the formation of the committee to address their demands.

After meeting with NC leaders, PM Dahal had discussions with Speaker Ghimire and UML Chair Oli.

Deputy Prime Minister and Rastriya Swatantra Party Chairman Lamichhane reached Baluwatar while the Speaker and UML Chair were still in discussion with the Prime Minister.
