Prime Minister, Speaker, and UML Chair hold discussions to end obstructions in Parliament

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Speaker of the House of Representatives Devraj Ghimire, and Chairman of the CPN-UML, KP Oli, have initiated discussions to end the parliament deadlock.

The main opposition party, Nepali Congress (NC), along with other opposition parties, has been obstructing the Parliament, demanding the formation of a probe committee over Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane’s alleged involvement in cooperatives-related fraud.

According to Speaker Ghimire’s secretariat, PM Dahal, UML Chairman Oli, and the Speaker are holding talks at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.

Earlier, NC leaders claimed that Prime Minister Dahal assured them to form a committee soon.

According to Prime Minister Dahal’s Secretariat, the Prime Minister will call a meeting of other political parties after discussions with UML Chair Oli and Speaker Ghimire.
