Over 1 kg of gold discovered in aircraft parked at TIA

KATHMANDU: Authorities at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) have seized a significant amount of gold discovered on an Indigo Air flight arriving from New Delhi.

According to SSP Krishna Hari Sharma of the Airport Security Office, approximately 1.70 kilograms of gold were found concealed within the aircraft’s seats.

The discovery was made during a routine inspection after the aircraft landed at TIA on Wednesday.

Further investigations are underway regarding the origins and intended recipients of the seized gold.
