Chief Minister Yadav of Madhesh Province set to seek vote of confidence today

KATHMANDU: Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav of Madhesh Province is slated to seek a vote of confidence on Sunday.

Earlier on Magh 9, two ministers from the Janamat Party resigned and withdrew their support from the government, prompting CM Yadav to face a floor test.

A Provincial Assembly meeting has been convened for 2 PM this afternoon, as per the Madhesh Province secretariat.

Yadav, representing the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP), assumed office as Chief Minister of the province on Poush 27.

This marks the third occasion for CM Yadav to seek a vote of confidence. With 107 members in the Provincial Assembly, Yadav must secure the support of at least 54 members.

He is anticipated to receive backing from the JSP, Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center), Loktantrik Samajbadi Party, and CPN (Unified Socialist), enhancing the likelihood of winning the vote of confidence.
