KATHMANDU: The annual bathing ritual (Maha Snan) of Seto Machhindranath Aryavatilokeshwar took place on Thursday.
The Kanakachaitya Mahavihara called Janabaha at Keltol, Kathmandu, was duly worshiped and bathed.
On the day of Ponhelathva Ashtami i.e. Paush Shukla Ashtami Tithi, the bathing ritual of Seto Machindranath took place.
Before that, on the day of Saptami, the related Guthiyars and Gurjus go to fetch water in Kalash with tools.
After the bath, Kumari was given darshan of Seto Machhindranath.
There is also a tradition of arranging for the sun to warm Seto Machhendranath the next day after taking a great bath.
