Minister Yadav instructs to replace broken water pipes

KATHMANDU: Minister for Water Supply Pradeep Yadav has instructed the subordinate agencies to install new pipes in the places of broken water supplying pipes in Kathmandu Valley.

After receiving information that the pipelines in some places where Melamchi’s water is being distributed are bursting and the water is being wasted, Minister Yadav has today instructed all the subordinate agencies to immediately connect and repair the broken pipes and operate the water smoothly.

Similarly, Minister Yadav said that recently there have been complaints that water is not reaching people’s houses due to broken and unrepaired water pipes.

He also instructed to install new pipes in the places where the pipes were broken and to conduct water operation.

He further instructed to go to each ward to monitor whether the water is coming or not and where the pipes are broken.

Minister Yadav informed that the ministry has already called for a contract to build a ‘treatment plant’ for the supply of 250 million liters and 50 million liters of additional water for the people of Kathmandu Valley.
