Police remove attendees wearing Balen Shah T-shirts at Indra Jatra

KATHMANDU: Youths who attended the Indra Jatra celebrations in Basantapur wearing t-shirts emblazoned with Balen Shah’s photo were removed from the venue by the police.

Authorities removed these individuals from the event, likely due to concerns about potential opposition to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli during the ceremony.

The special ceremony organized by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City for Indra Jatra is expected to host notable figures.

Last year, young people who cheered for Balen Shah were present alongside the President and Prime Minister.

This year, Balen Shah’s participation remains uncertain as he is currently in India, leaving his attendance at today’s event in question.
